This 2.5 x 2.5-inch vinyl sticker shows the reverse side of the St. Benedict medal, which includes several prayers and symbols believed to protect against evil:

  • The center of the medal is a cross with four letters surrounding it: C S S M L. These letters stand for the Latin phrase "Crux sacra sit mihi lux," which means "May the holy cross be my light."
  • To the left of the cross is the letter N, which stands for "Nondraco sit mihi dux," which means "Let not the dragon be my guide." The dragon is a symbol of evil, so this prayer is asking for protection from Satan.
  • To the right of the cross is the letter D, which stands for "Dominus meus et Deus meus," which means "My Lord and my God." This prayer is a reminder of God's protection and love.
  • Around the edge of the medal are the letters V R S N S M V - S M Q L I V B. These letters are the initials of the Latin prayer "Vade retro Satana, numquam suade mihi vana! Sunt mala quae libas. Ipse venena bibas!" This prayer is an exorcism that is used to drive away evil.

The St. Benedict medal is a popular Catholic devotion believed to offer protection against evil. It is often worn as a necklace or bracelet.
